Christmas Card 2016

I took her to Daisy Tree studio, the same place that her newborn pictures were done. She only lasted 35 min but was pretty good and she only nose dived on the floor once and was crying hard but calmed down fairly fast! So I think it was pretty successful!

Blakely - 7 months

Sleep: She has started to go to bed earlier, sometimes around 8 pm (whoo hoo).. but still wakes up around 1-2am and 6-7am.

Eat: Shes been eating a lot more, mostly baby food and rice cereal, we have given her some things off our plates too.

Favorites: Toys that light up and make noise.

We can't believe: She stood up all by her self, she first did it when we was in the car seat hooked to the stroller, so she was totally standing in her car seat. Then she did it again in her Pack n Play.

Blakely - 6 months

 Stats
Weight: 15 lbs 10 oz
Height: 26 1/4 inches

Sleeps: She has now taken a couple naps in her room. We did try putting her to bed upstairs and she fell right asleep but seriously kept waking up and rolling into the railing... so we will have to try again her soon.

Eats: LOVES her peas and sweet potatoes.

Favorites: Paper (I actually think that might have been her first solid, jk) She grabs EVERYTHING and it goes straight to her mouth.
Loves: She loves to look in the mirror and see herself.

Hates: Her car seat (ugh) cries every time she gets in it and she has learned to arch her back (eye roll)

We can't believe: She is sitting up all by herself, she can sit for several minutes until she starts to grab for something ans starts falling over.. she may have already hit her head one too many times.

Blakely - 5 months

Sleep: SERIOUSLY HAS NOT CHANGED!

Eats: We gave her, her first baby food. The first food she ever ate were bananas, she was really unsure of them and did not know how to use a spoon.

Loves: Everything in her mouth.

Favorites: Chewing on her owl that hangs from her car seat.

New: Starting to roll over, mostly from back to stomach. And eating solids.

We can't believe: You can pick up your binky and put it back in your mouth, she is getting so good at this. One day while driving in the car she dropped one binky out of her mouth so i reached back and stuck a different one in her mouth, then a second later looked back and she had put back in her first binky!

Blakely's Room

I've been wanting to share details of Blakely's room and I finally got it somewhat organized so that I could do so. I love how it turned out, the color scheme I wanted to go with was mint, grey and of course when you have a girl there will definitely be some pink in there.

When you walk into her room this little wall is what you first see. I found that Pink "B" book and decorated around that. Then the girls at work gave me that Paris book and it all came together from there.

Blakely: 4 Months

 4 month stats:
Weight 14.33lbs
Height 24.5"

Loves: Blakely loves to "hold" her bottle, she can't ever keep her hands off of it when we are feeding her. When she is super tired she puts her hand over her face when shes eating her bottle, it's too cute!

Favorites: Talking, she is miss jabber jaws lately, she already loves to hear her voice and tell us so many stories!

New: Blakely has started making sounds with her mouth, and she will totally copy cat us when we do it too. One night Wes was sticking his tongue out at her and she copied him and started sticking her tongue out too, it was hilarious!
She now reaches for EVERYTHING that is in front of her, She will grab her binky and try and put it in her mouth, she tries a few times before giving up.
Also just this last month she has found her feet, her feet are constantly in her mouth, I absolutely love watching her be so curious lately.

We can't believe: One morning while I was getting ready for work she was laying under her play mat and she kicked up her legs and rolled to her side then rolled over to her stomach. I couldn't believe it, she basically rolled over!

It's so fun comparing each monthly picture!

Blakely: 3 months

Sleep: Sleeps from about 10-10:30pm to 2-3am and wakes up again between 6-7am. So wakes about every 4 hours. She has had just a couple times where she has slept clear until 5am and a couple of times where she has slept through the night. :)
Eat: 3 oz. about every 2-3 hours

Favorites: Hands in her mouth! I'll be feeding her and as soon as the bottle is pulled about from her mouth her hands are instantly in her mouth. It doesn't matter which fingers it is either, it could be one finger, two fingers or her whole fist.
New: Her hand eye coordination is so amazing, she is grabs at her toys above her head and has now started kicking her toys with her feet. She has now started putting her hands on her bottle every time I'm feeding her, she loves to "hold" it, but can be frustrating because she will pull down so hard and pull it right out her mouth then gets mad.
Also just this week she has found her feet, it is beyond the cutest thing, now whenever she is laying on her back her feet will be up in the air while grabbing her toes and trying to eat them. Because if it's not her fingers in her mouth it might as well be her toes!
OH and about a just days before turning 3 months she was having laying on her play mat while I was getting ready for work she had her feet in the air, then rolled to her side AND then to her tummy! She basically rolled over! I was dying, she wasn't even 3 months!

Blakely 1 month old

I can't believe one month has already came and went. We basically blinked and 4 weeks flew by and Wes and I are both beyond smitten by her.

Sleep: She goes to bed between 10:30-11:30, First wake up between 1:30-2:30 eat 2 ounces and back to sleep in your Rock n' Play. Second wake up between 4:30-5, for about a half hour to eat then back to sleep until about 7:30-8. Ever since bringing her home this has been her set schedule, with only waking up two times in the night (I'm not complaining!)
She loves her bink during the day but does not want it in the middle of the night, loves to be swaddled and loves white noise that we play from the iPad.

Eat: At the hospital drinking about 1 ounce then once we came home within a couple days up to 2 ounces every 2-3 hours.
In the hospital we tried breastfeeding and she latched pretty good, but since I wasn't producing anything we already had given her several bottles and then once we came home the bottles in the middle of the night just came so much easier, so basically we stayed with bottle feeding her. I did pump for a little while but only did it about two times a day for the first week then slowly started fading it out to one time a day and I wasn't producing much so we were still giving her a bottle afterwards. Then it just ended up being too much work to pump while she slept. I ended up fading that out after about two-three weeks.

Nicknames: "Little toaster oven" (because she will overheat you when holding her). Cousin Aspyn calls her "Baby Blakey." "Princess" and "baby girl."

Favorites: Binky and your bottle

5 Day Appointment: Dr Anderson at Utah Valley Pediatrics - Weight 7 lbs 15 oz. Almost 20 inches long.

1 Month Appointment: Weight 8 lbs 5 oz.. One ounce less than when she was born. Now Dr Anderson said we can start doing tummy time and up her bottles to 3 ounces.

Pregnancy Favorites

There have just been a couple things about this pregnancy that I don't think I could live without.
This first one has been my all time FAVORITE and most random of them all!

Forever 21 Pajama shirts
Found Here, Here & Here
Starting with these Pajama shirts from Forever21 they have been the greatest! Usually I just wear a big t-shirt but those were becoming a little short. These however are so long and comfy and fit perfectly over the belly. Seriously the material and the stretch to them are so perfect, and just to compare how nice and big they are, in the picture below I'm wearing a size small, I also have a medium too. Both are perfect!
And they are only $12.90!

Also the Pajama pants I'm wearing have been the best thing I have found too because they are so stretchy and loose and can go up over the belly or below the belly super easily, they are from JCPenny.
Pants here (not exact same, but same brand)
Old Navy Rockstar Jeans

I LOVE these jeans, I love their rockstars in general so I knew I would love their maternity ones. Since I'm only 5"2' and they come in "short" these have been by far the best ever! I also love the full panel and that they are skinny. I bought two pairs really early on, when I was about 12 weeks because I knew I would get so much use out of them and my other jeans became uncomfortable very fast. I could not have any pressure down really low and since I sit at work all day normal pants just were not cutting it.. So a purchase well made early on!

Old Navy Yoga pants
Yoga pants here
Now if only I had bought these A LOT sooner.. I waited until I was about 28 weeks to buy these. Which was dumb because before being pregnant I lived in yoga pants and although my other ones still fit, I just could not stand the pressure from the band below my belly and how they would fold over. The full panel on the yoga pants are the best for that reason!

Victoria Secret Lounge Bra
Bra Here
I have had the hardest time finding a bra, even though my normal bras still fit the wire was getting so uncomfortable.. Seriously I feel like you NEED comfort during pregnancy. So after buying two other different bras, I finally found these lounge bras from VS. I was skeptical at first so I only bought one, but then a few days later went and bought a nude one as well. These are going to be so great for after pregnancy too. It's just like a sports bra but with even more comfort, it still has an underwire for support but I don't even notice it.

Bath & Body Works Twisted Peppermint Body wash
Early on I couldn't stand any of my floral or fresh scented body washes and lotions. Luckily it was that time of season that Bath and Body Works had their Christmas scents out and Peppermint was my best friend. This already is my FAVORITE seasonal scent anyways, so I really lucked out!

Doterra Peppermint Oil
Along with everything else peppermint that I was loving, I also couldn't have lived without my peppermint oil. If I was feeling nauseous, putting a few drops on my chest or wrists made all the difference. Especially if I was going into a public restroom I would hurry and put some on because the smell of pee made me want to puke.

Those were just a few of my favorite pregnancy must haves, especially if you like comfort like me:)

Christmas Time

I love this time of year, I love setting up our Tree, it always feels so magical when it is all lit up.

And also I'm 21 weeks (12/20/15)

Gender Reveal Party.. It's a....??

Wes and I found out the gender on a Monday, but waited until Wednesday when I didn't have class and he was able to miss out on Rotary. We had my mom make a blue and a pink cake so we could surprise everyone at once. We had everyone turn around and we cut into the "right cake" and had everyone turn back around to reveal the gender to them!

We cannot wait to add a baby GIRL to our family of THREE!!!

Finding out gender: Take Two

We went back to see if baby would let us see if it's a boy or a girl, (at 16 weeks and 1 day). And yes we did find out! Although it did take time, I peed 2 or 3 times, got on my hands & knees again etc etc..
And... IT'S A GIRL!!!

Finding out gender: Take One

We went to Fetal Fotos to determine the sex at 15.5 weeks (on a Wednesday), it was on Veterans days 11/10/15. Although baby was being stubborn so we had to reschedule for the following Monday. Baby was just way too comfortable and did not want to move. I even went pee twice, got on my hands and knees and drank cold water, but nothing would make baby move out of position. #stubborn

Can you tell by the first picture that baby is thinking "Hmmm I'm not going to move for you guys"

First Ultra Sound

I wasn't even sure how far along I was until our first appointment on 9.29.15. But we found out I was 9 weeks and 2 days! Both Wes and I were in complete shock that we could legs and arms. We thought the baby would look like a little bean! I can't believe it already looks like a little human at 9 weeks!!

Family Pictures + telling extended family our news

We took fall family pictures up Hobble Creek Canyon. After we were done we also told everyone that didn't already know that I was pregnant! Wes announced it, we were deciding where we should eat after and Wes said.... "Well we need to choose somewhere somewhat healthy since Kate is eating for two" and everyone was SO shocked and almost didn't believe us for a minute!
